High Street condos and stacked towns are the entry point and the most walkable address in the suburban southeast — coffee, groceries and the pub downstairs or around the corner. By suburban Calgary standards, genuinely yes — it was planned around a main street, and daily errands on High Street are a walk, not a drive, from much of the community. The honest caveat: walkability varies by quarter. High Street and Inverness feel it most; the outer crescents of Prestwick and Elgin live closer to a conventional suburb. What are Inverness, Prestwick, Elgin and High Street?

McKenzie Towne’s four quarters. Inverness and Prestwick carry the Victorian and Craftsman family streets; Elgin runs European styles around the ponds and holds the estate end; High Street is the commercial heart with condos and towns above and beside the shops.
